この曲、あんまり古すぎて、今となれば知る人も少なく、よほどの洋楽ファンでもないかぎり、この楽曲を話題にする人もいない。
かれこれ半世紀近く前の作品で、まあ、ここで知ったかぶりにあれこれ解説もしたくないが、簡単に、グループ名のCrosby, Stills, Nash & Youngとは、デヴィッド・クロスビー、スティーヴン・スティルス、グラハム・ナッシュとニール・ヤングのことで、69年ウッドストック・フェスティバルに参加、翌70年名作『デジャ・ヴ』を発表し爆発的なヒットとなり、シングルカットされたのが、この曲。
作曲はグラハム・ナッシュ、私がこの曲を薦めるのは1：13秒あたりの’ for you’と歌うところ、真綿に包まれて優しく落ちていくようで心が安らぐとでもいうか、何度でもリピートしたくなるからにからだ。
またこの西部開拓史時代のようなジャケットが良かった。
まるでワイルド・ビル・ヒコックとバッファロー ビル・コディを意識したように納まっている。
